Bold and fierce are we birthed into the world to become
From time immemorial are we predestined to be unshaken and tough
They say, "Be rigid! To your fears can you not succumb"
"Your weaknesses should the world not see no matter how rough"
But as each year passes, anxiety continues to suck our blood
In vicious hands do we suffer black eyes and swollen lips
Recurrently do our skulls get fractured by our beloved
From knife wounds do we bleed and also do we stagger from whips
Broken bottles inevitably gashes our skin
Gunshot wounds stain that which belongs to us like sin
We become victims and casualties of hate
Per diem do we howl, nonetheless we are left to battle our own fate
Never should we cry even if we linger in pain
Emotionally do we get drained, but who are we to complain?
See you through our veins? Blood also flows through
Boys are we and as humans should we be treated too!
