One of the most popular music videos on Nigerian blogosphere right now is D’banj’s It’s not a lie. Featuring Harrysong and Wande Coal, it was shot in USA and has all the trappings of a superstar’s video.
However, while the video is trending online, there have been diverse reactions trailing it. Some people feel it is a good comeback for the Koko master, while others are of the opinion that he lacks the talent necessary to make a good singer.
One commenter on Instagram, @hisvideo wrote, “I love this video; it is so fresh and clean. The song also has a nice vibe to it. Up King D’banj.”
Another, @ifexii, wrote, “The chorus of this song is so catchy and I don’t think I can get tired of listening to it.’’
Meanwhile, @pvrvgigm_shift, wrote, “More like Harrysong feat Dbanj because D’banj did not deliver any good lyrics. Please work on your lyrics (too short and weak).”
@hicq313 wrote, “I am very sure Harrysong wrote the chorus of this song. Even then, D’banj couldn’t deliver his verse well. I think this bros (sic) should go into another business. Music is not for him.”
D’banj, who recently became a father, is however not bothered by the negative comments as he has continued to promote the video ethusiastically.
