So, when we crave for a little watermelon juice, we can decide to skip the fruit and treat ourselves to something even more unique, watermelon bread.
Japanese bakery Bo-Lo’Gne transforms ordinary bread into a delightful square watermelon loaf officially called Suika Pan (a Japanese word for “Watermelon Bread”). The exterior is stripped to mimic a real watermelon rind and the interior, made from bits of chocolate to represent the seeds.
Bo-Lo’Gne’s Suika Pan is made with watermelon juice. Taking a bite of this delicious loaf leaves a little bit of confusion and discerning on your taste bud as to what category it fits, either bread or dessert or fruit because of the combined taste of the watermelon juice/flavour and the chocolate.
The attention seeking bread has a flavour which is on the mild side, providing refreshing sweetness without overloading your flavour receptors or making you feel bloated.
